17th September to 4th October 2015
To celebrate the launch of Hoxton Mini Press’ new title, Makers of East London, the Geffrye Museum shop will be showcasing a range of work by the makers featured in the book.
From contemporary caned furniture and concrete bowls to bespoke umbrellas and hand folded lampshades, all the work is produced in studios located in the nearby area. Harking back to the Geffrye Museums early days in 1914 as a museum which aimed to inspire and educate tradespeople in the East End, this is an ideal opportunity to revisit and celebrate the continued success of these industries in the area.
The Geffrye is excited to be able to bring the book to life and offer visitors the chance to take home a piece of the work featured in its pages.
