Fierce Energy – Meet the Artist

Fierce Energy – Meet the Artist

By Ruup & Form- 21st September 2023

Naomi Mcintosh creates her new series – Seeds. The new group of work explores the possibility, the power and potential of planting a seed. The sculptures celebrate cycles of growth. The repetitious beech wood forms are meticulously and carefully threaded so they become tapestries and screens of ripples and vibrations. Each arch symbolising extraordinary energy in a single seed. She chose to make this work in her greenhouse at her home in the Cairngorms in Scotland, surrounded by plants as they set seed, tomatoes, aubergines, cucumbers, and pumpkins all grown from seed.

Rachna Garodia’s new work – Sprout celebrates the magical life force – seeds/’bija’ or containment of life. A collection of woven works brought to life while observing seeds as an object of great beauty. Rachna is deeply moved and inspired by this small, silent, magical, and resilient life force, drawn to the power of hope and growth that each little capsule contains within.
