The Art of Nature exhibition by Atelier Roc welcomes you into their world of design through a series of artworks and art installations at the Hart Hotel located in the heart of Shoreditch.
The founder and director of Atelier Roc, Yasmine Faress leads a young and vibrant Interior & Architectural design studio in London that focuses on creating spaces and objects that combine functionality and natural aesthetics.
Hart Shoreditch has partnered with Atelier Roc to showcase their first limited-batch throw collection as well as taking you through the journey of their design and fabrication process. The exhibition takes us through the investigation and collage process using the natural world that surrounds us as inspiration. Atelier Roc brings a new perspective by transforming and coalescing silhouettes found in nature and in-turn creating unique woven designs. Atelier Roc has partnered with AW Hainsworth, the heritage woollen mill, to exhibit the process of fabrication of jacquard weaves.
The exhibition includes the ‘Woven Forms’ installation which will envelope the striking Hart Hotel industrial staircase with a contrasting fabric. The staircase’s metal railing spans eight meters from floor to ceiling and will be used as a giant warp. An immersive journey will take you through the staircase to the lower ground floor where one can sit and observe the woven installation.
Hart Shoreditch has an incredible design itself, which is in celebration of Shoreditch’s heritage of craftspeople and makers. Hart’s distinctive design and historic homages continue through the restaurant and rooms and are reflected throughout the rest of the building. Hart Shoreditch has commissioned Yasmine to design pillows, rugs and tapestries which will remain as permanent pieces and lovely additions to the hotel design. Hart Shoreditch invites guests to visit their uniquely designed hotel as well as the work by Atelier Roc that can be admired throughout the year.
