Following the success of his launches in Milan and the USA, acclaimed British designer Lee Broom will transform his London showroom to present the third and final instalment of OBSERVATORY, the new, award-winning, stellar-inspired lighting collection that plays with proportions of vertical and horizontal space, and the refraction and reflection of light. This final presentation at The London Design Festival sees the new collection presented in the UK for the very first time.
A new lighting piece will make its debut during the London Design Festival and will be added to the collection. Orion, formed from modular tubes with opposing spheres, will be presented in a new black edition. The original polished gold finish is updated with black spheres and tubes which connect and expand horizontally and vertically to create bespoke constellations of light. The new monochrome edition will dramatically highlight the illumination of the tubes and the globes, with reduced reflection drawing the focus to the form and silhouette of the pieces.
Observatory includes five lighting collections – Orion, Eclipse, Aurora, Tidal and Lens Flair. The lights are technically innovative with concealed LEDs that create diffused halos of light with reflections and refractions. The celestial inspired collections are designed around sculptural and spherical forms, using simple materials including mirror-polished stainless steel, polished gold spheres and transparent acrylic discs. The astronomical theme continues with the end user being able to create their own constellations of light using multiple fixtures from Observatory.
