London-based manufacturer SCP presents a ceramic exhibition and workshop by longtime collaborator Reiko Kaneko. Additionally, live demonstrations take place courtesy of terracotta thrower Steve Harold, who is responsible for hand-making Kaneko’s SCP Terracotta Collection.
SCP has always walked the line between craft and design. They continue to utilise British craft-based skills in many of the products they create – including traditionally-made upholstery pieces from Norfolk, terracotta tableware from Suffolk, ceramics from Stoke-on-Trent and textiles from Yorkshire.
For this exhibition, SCP has invited designer and ceramicist Reiko Kaneko to give an insight into her working practice. She is presenting an eclectic mix of glazed tiles and tests, pieces of Kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with powdered precious metals) and Ikebana-style flower arranging.
For the duration of the show, SCP also presents an in-store craft trail, which highlights all of the craft-based SCP products – giving a greater insight into their origins, history and how they are made.
