SCP present new furniture and upholstery designs for their permanent collection, alongside wallpaper from New York based design brand, Calico. On the ground floor of their showroom, SCP present limited-edition pieces by Donna Wilson, an exhibition of the new Raami collection by Jasper Morrison for Iittala and new pieces from Studio Floris Wubben.
SCP 2019 Collection
SCP present new designs for their 2019 collection. Sarah Kay has designed a new dining table and bench in solid oak, based on the classic trestle table typology. Stalwart Matthew Hilton has designed a new armchair. Faudet-Harrison present the new Pillar sofa, short for Caterpillar the design is created to form around stationary objects in the room. American designer David Weeks presents a new sofa, his first product for SCP.
Donna Wilson Project
In a departure from her previous work for SCP, Donna Wilson is producing a set of limited edition one-off pieces, both hand-painted natural wood chairs and sculptural pieces in non-standard shapes.
Calico
For the UK launch of American wallpaper brand Calico, SCP present Prism, a new ambient collection that plays with the idea of refracted and diffused light. The original inspiration for the collection came after a stay at a secluded beachside cottage, where the first rays of morning light would shine through decorative crystals suspended in the windowpanes, infusing the sunlight with flashes of chromatic colour that danced across the rustic walls. Prism will be exhibited alongside wallpaper from Calico’s existing collection, including Aurora, Wabi, Aura and Inverted Spaces.
Jasper Morrison for Iittala
On the ground floor of Curtain Road, SCP present the new Raami collection by Jasper Morrison. Raami, meaning “frame” in Finnish, gives space for the shared, lasting moments. The carefully composed pieces of the collection work together to promote a good atmosphere around the table, from the morning to the evening. Each item in the collection is an individual; perfect on its own, yet a meaningful part of the entity. Like a family or a group of friends, each member brings their own characteristics to the table.
Floris Wubben
SCP present new designs from Floris Wubben, including side tables, vases, and a one-off mirror. Founded in Amsterdam in 2009, Studio Floris Wubben is a design studio that produces experimental ceramics and objects that seek to push the boundaries of function and sculpture. All of the designs they produce are made at their own workshop, where in recent years, a great focus has been put on the development of processes and the design of machines for production.
