By JULIANO CORDANO ARCHITECTURAL ARTIST- 16th September - 24th September 2023

Unit11/06_C

The architectural artist Juliano Cordano opens the door of his studio by the Regent Canals and invites the public to experience his work. It is the opportunity to know the art and the artist in his environment, where creation and execution meet. The event is called Unit11/06_C to bring together the location and the number of collections showcased.

London, Shoreditch based JULIANO CORDANO is an award-winning multi-disciplined contemporary artist whose art reflects expertise in the fields of architecture, interior and furniture design. His work is unconventional and a play on his creative upbringing in an untraditional Brazilian family. It seemingly blurs the lines between architecture and art.

Without categorisation, his work is fundamentally inspired by shapes, shadows, and the finite detail that makes architecture. He acutely understands the spellbinding precision required to create the hard, yet fluid shapes and angles of built structures admired in buildings, and how they lay bare the ways they influence and impact our lives.

The artwork is simple and sophisticated, a mirror of shapes, form, and mono colour. The details are more important to him rather than the whole work. Juliano Cordano presses the viewer to find purpose without detracting from the beauty of his creation. In his multi-faceted career in design, architecture, urban planning and furniture design, he understands simplicity of need and the power of purpose in art.

The foundation of his practice rests in his architectural and design training but is impacted by his living throughout the world, where environments, populations, and conventions differ by culture, geography, and socio-political influences. His art is a homage to all of these.
