DOTE creates consciously made products for people and their pets.
The brand was founded in 2017 by London-based designers Nic Wallenberg and Helena Hedenstedt. Unable to find smart, modern and sustainable essentials for their two cats Sika and Kira, they decided to design their own – thus, DOTE was born.
The aim? To produce well crafted, minimal objects that respond to both the practical needs of animals and the aesthetic desires of their owners. Be it a chew toy or a blanket, DOTE believes that each and every piece should be environmentally responsible, enhance a space and – most importantly – encourage harmonious co-habitation.
The debut collection, which will be previewed at the London Design Festival in Shoreditch Design Triangle this September, comprises four versatile prototypes that are inspired by contemporary city living. Multifunctional grooming kits, sleek carrier totes, playful mouldable blankets and wall climbers will all feature in the upcoming line, which launches later this year and will be available to buy at DOTE’s dedicated e-store.
DOTE aspires to be completely sustainable. All products are vegan and are either partly or entirely made from recycled materials. Both the products and their components are largely crafted in Swedish factories that are strictly regulated. Each and every piece packs small for shipping, minimising materials and waste.
