Ella Doran’s visually-arresting and award-winning designs are the results of creative partnerships and collaboration. She works across photography, textiles, weaving and painting to create a wide range of outcomes, from products to projects, exhibitions & workshops. In the late 90s, she was one of the forerunners of the creative application of digitally printed photographic designs onto everyday products.
Clients have ranged from Conran and Heals to Absolut Vodka and Paloma Picasso, with licensed products created for the likes of Portmeirion Potteries, John Lewis, Habitat & The Art Group. She has produced award-winning collections for TATE, The Glasgow School of Art and The Southbank Centre, whilst her own brand continues to design and make to order wallpapers, roller blinds and interior soft furnishings.
Ella’s boundless curiosity and great eye for colour, nature and form ensure that her designs are always innovative and inspiring, as well as witty, narrative rich, and fun. Striving to produce sustainably in collaboration with her manufacturers, Ella also promotes the design industry’s shift toward a circular economy through various public engagement and student teaching projects.
