Located in the creative heart of East London, we embrace the collision of past, present and future to create a vibrant culture that encourages curiosity and a can-do attitude.
The students on our BA and MA Furniture and Product Design courses are confident makers, opinionated thinkers and flexible designers with industry-relevant skills and experiences to find their roles in this dynamic industry.
Delivered by internationally recognised designers that bring experience of working with leading brands and galleries, students get unrivalled access to current methodologies and thinking.
Driven by insightful thinking and often working with a strong material signature, our students explore their interests through a rigorous design approach that is deeply connected to material and process, striving for unique outcomes that are relevant to the world around us.
Design is seen as a verb and we encourage ideas to be explored from quick sketch models of ‘what if…?’, to more evolved proofs of concept and industry prototypes, all supported by unrivalled 3D workshops and technical expertise for wood, metal, ceramics, additive manufacturing (3d printing), upholstery, and professional powder coating and wet spraying.
London is our classroom – we have strong links with local and international design communities, visiting design studios, galleries, retailers, journalists and curators – enabling students to develop their own professional networks whilst still on the course.
