Para Para and Lombrello join forces through their love of umbrellas for London Design Week 2023. In their first collaboration they bring together Para Para’s umbrellas and Lombrello’s signature chairs. An open invitation for people to meet, chat, and bond through the quintessential British pastime, discussing the weather.
Para Para is about bringing joy to bad weather; a series of bold animated umbrellas which come to life when viewed through an app. Founded by George Wu, a creative mind who enjoys putting a spin on everyday objects, Para Para are lovingly handmade by James Ince Umbrellas, the UK’s oldest umbrella maker. London Design Week sees the prelaunch of Para Para’s first artist series with new designs created by illustrator Malika Favre, Erchen Chang creative director of Bao and illustrator Timo Kuilder.
LOMBRELLO is a studio that attempts to design the improbable: objects and spaces that are both simple and unique. Lombrello was founded by Andrea Forapani, whose vision of combining skillful craftsmanship with contemporary design resulted in the creation of the unmistakable Lombrello Chair, a versatile and unique chair made to be completely customisable. With a playful attitude towards design and passion for art, Andrea creates unconventional and psychedelic chairs with a minimal silhouette where different colours and upholsteries are the absolute protagonists.
Para Para and Lombrello invite visitors to play in this joyful showcase, by combining umbrellas and chairs, visitors can look at both these objects in a new way.
