UBS presents Nexus, an interactive design installation that translates big data on air quality into a visual and kinetic performance.
Nexus by designer, Elaine Yan Ling Ng, is a UBS Evidence Lab project that harnesses the power of design to communicate big data on air quality. Powered by a digital feed from more than 8,000 air quality monitoring stations around the world, Nexus, brings together nature and technology to provide a visual reminder of a significant global problem. Following the principles of biomimicry, the installation is inspired by the form and behaviors of networks of forest trees and their roots. UBS has a rich history of supporting cultural and artistic endeavors across the world focusing on exploring and collecting contemporary art as well as supporting educational art activities.
